In May 2020, the Ladies Philoptochos of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Bethesda, Maryland held three food drives to help those in need around the community. The three organizations we assisted were: Montgomery County Volunteer Center, Gaithersburg HELP, and Manna Food Center. With our community’s help, we collected over 3,115 food items totaling 2,210 pounds. The Saint George Greek Orthodox Church parish was integral in the success of these drives.
For our next charitable event, we will be constructing and donating facial coverings/masks for those in need. We will continue the food drives through the summer.
