Athens, Greece- On Monday, March 14, 2016, legendary sports team Olympiacos, organized an enormous charity event to help thousands of refugees that are currently in distress and looking for a better tomorrow.  At the port of Piraeus, refugees gathered to receive home cooked meals, fruits, and clothing.  The team handed out jackets, gloves and hats to help refugees stay warm during this time of need.  Furthermore, soccer balls were handed out to the children in order to help them find some joy again.  Mr. Vassilis Vassiliadis, CEO, was also present and coordinating the huge effort of Olympiacos. The generous gesture by Olympiacos shows the world that Greek people truly are defined by the Greek word Philotimo, opening their hearts to help out the less fortunate during this dire time.  This has been part of their ongoing effort to help the refugees and by doing so, they have increased awareness towards the situation and have inspired others to become involved.
