Markos Papadatos returns for yet another victory lap in 2022. This world-renowned editor, journalist, Amazon bestselling author, blogger, poet, and educator has amassed an illustrious body of published work that includes interviews with the most well-known names in the worlds of entertainment, sports, music, lifestyle, and magic.

His byline tally stands at over 17,000, which combined with an almost superhuman turnaround rate has affectionately earned him the nickname “Powerjournalist.”
For the sixth consecutive year, Markos triumphed in the annual “Best of Long Island” competition. He scored four wins in the “Arts and Entertainment” section this year, thus sweeping every category he was nominated in a true Adele Grammy Award ceremony fashion.

These include wins for the coveted “Best Long Island Personality” (for the third year in a row), an honor that has gone to Billy Joel six times, as well as “Best Author on Long Island” (for the second year in a row), “Best Blogger from Long Island” (for the fifth year in a row), and “Best Poet” (for the second year in a row).

“To win all four of these ‘Best of Long Island’ categories is incredible. I am very thankful, honored, and humbled for this recognition. What an incredible way to kick off the New Year 2022,” Markos said.

Thanks for reading Hellenic News of America

As always, he thanked his family, especially his amazing mother Effie, as well as his former teachers at I.S. 25 Queens and Saint Francis Prep, and college professors at Queens College for all of their guidance and support. “I say this all the time. I would not be where I am today, without Queens College! Writing for their college newspaper ‘The Knight News’ changed my life, and I am forever grateful to Queens College for everything, it really is the crown jewel of CUNY,” he said.

“Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart to everybody who believed in me and voted for me in all of these categories. I asked for votes, and all of you showered me with more love than I ever thought was imaginable,” he said, graciously.
Markos has developed a reputation for providing comprehensive arts and entertainment coverage to locals and beyond for well over 16 years. An Editor-at-Large for Digital Journal, he has primarily focused on music, entertainment, and sports news and has written an astonishing 17,000 articles.

He serves as Managing Editor of Raver Magazine, Senior Editor of the Hellenic News of America, and he is an associate producer of “The Donna Drake Show” on CBS New York.
He has interviewed big names ranging from Aerosmith to Billy Joel to Stevie Nicks to Emmylou Harris to Academy Award winners Jeff Bridges, Regina King, and Rita Moreno. His passion and flair for his craft make him an obvious choice for “Best Long Island Personality.”

Further exemplifying Markos’ passion for the written word are the countless poems that he has penned, which includes a timely collection entitled “Poems that Rave: Poetry in Quarantine.”

He is also the co-author of the Amazon bestselling book “Manifesting Your Dreams: Inspiring Words of Encouragement, Strength, and Perseverance.”
Ever grateful, Markos realized that it takes more than a Greek village to accomplish this huge milestone, so he thanked everybody who helped him along the way.
