The challenges in the Mediterranean as well as environmental and climate change issues occupied Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his Italian counterpart Mario Draghi during a meeting earlier on the sidelines of the EUMED Summit hosted in Athens, at the Styros Foundation Cultural Center.
The two leaders reaffirmed the excellent level of bilateral relations and discussed prospects for deepening co-operation at both bilateral and regional levels, with an emphasis on economic co-operation.
They also discussed challenges in the Mediterranean, including immigration.
The Prime Minister and his Italian counterpart placed special emphasis on environmental and climate change issues and the impact on the Mediterranean, as well as the two countries’ co-operation in this area.
They also discussed the course of the pandemic and vaccinations.
