One of the reasons New Democracy received a surprisingly good percentage in the May 21 elections in western Attica is that “it not only protected but also created new jobs,” party leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis told people at the industrial region of Aspropyrgos on Thursday evening.
The people of western Attica recognized the fact that “we saved the Elefsina and Skaramangas shipyards,” he noted.
Mitsotakis also emphasized the strengthening of the country’s national health system as a top priority if New Democracy earns a second term in government after the June 25 runoff elections.
The main concern of the 2019-2023 New Democracy government was “the reduction of inequalities and the support of the weakest – and it left no one unprotected,” he pointed out.
Prior to his campaign speech Mitsotakis visited the Pontian Genocide Memorial in Aspropyrgos.
