Revisionism and the lack of respect for fundamental principles of International Law must be stopped at the beginning, otherwise attackers become confident they can promote their agenda, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Tuesday, in his message to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the second online summit of the Crimea Platform.

Mitsotakis reiterated his support to Ukraine’s struggle and stated explicitly his opposition to a change in borders. He compared Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to the Turkish occupation of Cyprus, “a wound that is still open, 50 years later.” He said Grece understands the pain this brings to a country and what it costs.

“It’s a point of principle for Greece to refuse to accept the change in borders that Russia is trying to impose on Ukraine,” the Greek PM said in his address. Greece will be there, when this war ends, to support the rebuilding of Ukraine and to help Kyiv in its European path.”
The Crimea Platform is based on an initiative by the president of Ukraine “to put an end to the occupation of Crimea and contribute to European and global security,” according to its site. It held its first meeting in August 2021.
