Supreme President of AHEPA, Savas Tsivicos to be Honored at the Hermes Expo Awards Dinner Gala

The 33rd Annual Hermes Expo Awards Dinner Gala, to be held at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, NJ, is set to honor Mr. Savas C. Tsivicos with the prestigious Aristotelian Award. This accolade recognizes Mr. Tsivicos’s outstanding contributions and dedication to the Greek American and Cypriot communities.

About Mr. Savas C. Tsivicos:

Savas C. Tsivicos received his Bachelor of Science and M.B.A. degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University and his post-graduate master’s certificate in management of government contracts from George Washington University. He is the CEO of Cypreco Industries, Inc., a consulting, engineering, general contracting, and construction management company specializing in government and commercial contracts.

Mr. Tsivicos is a dedicated member of several esteemed organizations. He serves on the Metropolitan Council of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of NJ, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, and is a member of the Archdiocesan Council of the Greek Orthodox Church of America. As an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, he has received the highest honor conferred upon a layman. He was a founding member of the Hellenic American Heritage Commission of NJ and is on the Board of Directors of Queens College Center for Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies.

Throughout his career, Mr. Tsivicos has been an active leader in major Greek-American and Cypriot organizations, including the Cyprus Federation of America, the American Hellenic Institute, and the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), where he has served in various capacities, including Chapter President, District Governor, National Chairman of the Cyprus and Hellenic Affairs Committee, and currently as Supreme Secretary. He has also led the Greek American Chamber of Commerce of NJ and the Hellenic Federation of New Jersey as President.

Savas is known for his inspirational leadership and humanitarian efforts. He has been recognized by several organizations and churches for his dedication to preserving Hellenism and Orthodoxy. In November 2021, he was honored with the “Medal of Saint Paul” by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros, the highest honor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. In 2016, he received the Medal of Exceptional Service from the President of Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, for his efforts toward justice and freedom for Cyprus.

As National President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Children’s Fund, a charitable foundation currently sponsoring 500 children, Mr. Tsivicos has performed exceptional work. Under his leadership for 13 years, hundreds of thousands of dollars were sent to Cyprus to help needy children, and annual scholarships in excess of $50,000 are awarded yearly to students of Cypriot descent studying in the USA. He currently serves as Honorary Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors. In 2017, he was honored by the First Lady of Cyprus, Mrs. Andri Anastasiades, for his humanitarian efforts for needy children and children with special needs in Cyprus.

Mr. Tsivicos is married to Maria (Gregos), and they have three children: Haralambos (35), Ellpetha (33), and Evangelos (30). They worship at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean, New Jersey, where Savas served six terms as President of the Parish Council. Under his leadership and direct supervision, the new church complex in Ocean Township was built, a dream of a generation, which started in 2009 and was completed in less than three years. The Tsivicos family resides in Wayside, New Jersey.
