For the past fifteen years, the Blue Angel Diner, owned by Mr. Haralambos Papanakios, has been one of the finest diners in Long Island, New York. Their pancakes were recently voted as the best in the town of Plainview. Particularly impressive about the Blue Angel Diner is that at least 95% of their patrons are returning customers, which the diner’s personnel and management know on a first name basis.

At Blue Angel Diner, a patron’s gourmet journey commences with their wide breakfast selection, which is available throughout the day. Their homemade breakfast offerings include eggs, omelettes, egg sandwiches, fluffy pancakes, Belgian waffles, muffins, bagels and deluxe French toast.

Their burger selection includes beef burgers and cheese burgers, as well as their turkey burgers and veggie burgers which are part of their low fat and low cholesterol menu.

They also offer the following crispy cold salads: Garden, Greek salads, Mediterranean Caesar and Spinach.

All the meals arrive at the patrons’ tables swiftly and fresh, and the waiters and hosts are extremely friendly. Particularly impressive about the Blue Angel Diner is at every visit there is always something different to try due to its elaborate menu listings; however, a few distinct dishes that deserve more than just a passing glance include their seafood selection of filet of salmon, broiled jumbo shrimp, fried clam strips, as well as their stuffed filet of sole. Their broiled basa filet is served with a cup of soup, Greek salad, potatoes and vegetables, dessert and a beverage (coffee or tea).

Their Greek specialties include baked moussaka, spanakopita with rice pilaf, gyro on pita bread served with Greek salad and fries, and their most popular dish is their chicken souvlaki with grilled vegetables over rice; moreover, their Italian specials include baked stuffed clams, chicken parmigiana, shrimp parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana and chicken cutlets.

All the baking is done on the premises at Blue Angel Diner and their cakes and pastries are available to take home. Their homemade desserts include layer cakes, cheese cakes, pies, strawberry shortcakes, jello pudding, fresh fruit salad, bread pudding and rizogalo (rice pudding).

Experienced waiter Pavlos Andreou remarked, “The Blue Angel Diner makes its patrons feel as if they are at home and it is an amazing restaurant with a warm and pleasant atmosphere.”

Their motto is as follows: “Your satisfaction is our goal,” and after today, it is safe to say that one will leave the Blue Angel Diner with lasting impressions of their fine cooking.
