The National Hellenic Museum is pleased to welcome pianist Konstantinos Papadakis, a native of Heraklion, Crete, Greece, for a Konstantinos Papadakisspecial performance of works from four different composers, highlighted by Rhythmologia from the legendary Manos Hadjidakis.
Rhythmologia has never been published and is rarely performed. Papadakis will be performing this work from Hadjidakis’s autograph score, which was kindly given to him by the composer’s son, Yorgos Theophanopoulos-Hadjidakis.
The concert and pre-event reception are presented in collaboration with the Modern Greek Studies Program at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the auspices of the Greek Consulate of Chicago. This event has also been endorsed by the Hellenic Professional Society of Illinois.
