Apollo Travel Group, which is Scandinavia’s biggest tour operator and a subsidiary company of DER-Touristik Group, inaugurated another sports hotel at the island of Limnos, NE Aegean, on Thursday, with Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias attending.
In the summer months the hotel will host tourists and travelers, while Olympic teams and athletes can pursue their workout routine the rest of the year. The hotel has already received the Swedish Olympic Committee’s approval for the preparation of its athletes there.
This is Apollo Travel Group’s second investment in Greece, as a similarly themed retreat already operates at Sivota, on the mainland south of Igoumenitsa.
In statements at the event, Kikilias referred to the ministry’s strategy of strengthening thematic tourism throughout the country, and the dynamic showcasing of new, non-traditional tourist destinations in Greece.
The inauguration was also attended by DER-Touristik CEO Soren Hartmann, Apollo President & DER-Touristik Head for Scandinavian countries Leif Vase Larsen, and Head of the Swedish Olympic Committee Peter Reinebo.
