Ahepans from New London, Connecticut, donated and delivered pizza to the residents of the chapter’s five affordable elderly housing communities. Oakdale Pizza Restaurant, owned by Brother Simos Fotiadis and his wife, Annie, donated more than 55 pizzas. Brother Jim Maistros delivered the pizzas to each of the communities.

In addition, Rose of New England Chapter 110, Norwich, provided much needed support to increase community access to medical care on May 15. Chapter President George Grossomanides presented a $1,000 grant to W.W. Backus CEO Donna Handley and Philanthropy and Development Program Manager Gen Schies to fund the Backus Hospital’s mobile outreach van which serves the community. 

Individual AHEPA family members of District 7 are doing their share too. DOP District 7 Governor Marianne Boutsioulis (pictured right) sewed more than 400 masks for emergency room personnel at Yale New Haven Hospital at the request of her daughter, Emilia, who is an emergency room RN at the hospital. Also, DOP Lysandros Chapter 181 President Maria Valkanos sewed masks for her local hospital.
