On September 18, 2026, the Order of AHEPA Hercules Spartan Chapter #26 gathered for their monthly meeting at Carmine’s in Newtown Square, Philadelphia, PA. After enjoying a shared menu of delicious food, President Paul Kotrotsios called the meeting to order.
The chapter began by unanimously voting to accept three new member applications, reflecting the ongoing growth of the chapter. The discussion then moved to an important initiative regarding scholarships, introduced by Brother John Sarkioglou and supported by President Kotrotsios and Scholarship Chairman John Kanakis. The plan involves working with four local churches, donating $1,000 annually to each church to help build scholarship funds through organized fundraisers and luncheons. A more detailed plan will be presented at next month’s meeting.
The members also addressed the need for a current website to better communicate meeting notices and other important information to members and the community. It was agreed to hire a professional company to create the website, with a target launch by Christmas.
Looking ahead, the chapter set a fixed date for future meetings, choosing the third Wednesday of each month for their dinner gatherings.
In the closing announcements, President Kotrotsios read correspondence and extended invitations to two significant upcoming events: the memorial service on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Saint George Cathedral in Philadelphia, marking the 50th Anniversary of the Dark Day of the invasion and occupation of Cyprus, and the Federation fundraiser concert and dinner featuring Dimitris Basis at Adelphia on October 20, 2024.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 PM.
The monthly Dinner meeting highlights the chapter’s ongoing commitment to growth, community involvement, and cultural preservation.
