WABC Radio Charity Gala Celebrates John Catsimatidis with Star-Studded Performances and Fundraising Success

WABC Radio hosted a spectacular evening at Cipriani’s 42nd Street on Friday, September 6, for its annual Charity Gala and Birthday Celebration honoring John Catsimatidis and all Virgos in attendance. Drawing an impressive crowd of over 600 attendees, the event was a star-studded affair, graced by politicians, celebrities, and valued WABC Radio clients, all gathering in support of charitable causes.

The gala was dedicated to raising funds for three esteemed organizations: the Tunnel To Towers Foundation, which honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller; the New York City Police Athletic League, supporting youth through sports and educational programs; and St. Francis Feed the Hungry, dedicated to combating hunger in New York City.

Hosting the evening’s festivities was none other than the legendary air personality Cousin Brucie Morrow, renowned for his show, The Saturday Night Rock & Roll Party on WABC Radio. Morrow’s charismatic presence set the tone for an evening filled with nostalgia and celebration.

Highlighting the event was the presentation of the All-American Award in Broadcasting Excellence to seventies singing sensation Tony Orlando, whose music radio show follows Cousin Brucie’s on WABC. With roots that honor his Greek heritage, Orlando has consistently celebrated his background through his artistry and philanthropic efforts. He took the stage for a memorable performance, including a spirited reunion with Dawn for a medley of their classic hits.

Joe Piscopo, the beloved host of Sundays with Sinatra on WABC Radio, added his signature flair with a soulful rendition of Frank Sinatra classics, while Adam Kim and Jay Siegel of the Tokens delighted attendees with their timeless tunes.
