“We remember. We honour. We continue,” main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras said in a social media post on Sunday, to mark May 1st or international Labour Day.
“We remember the struggle of the working class for its emanicipation. For a society of justice where people are above profits. For socialism as an answer to barbarism.
“We honour those that sacrificed themselves for country and social progress. The two hundred of Kaisariani, the dead of Thessaloniki of 1936, all those that shed their blood to give substance to the vision of social liberation,” Tsipras said.
“We continue the struggle for decent working pay, for rights at work and for a government that does not consider injustice and inequality to be normality and sees social equality as contrary to human nature,” he added.
