Greek Port Authorities are in the process of rescuing 27 migrants south of Greece’s southernmost island, Gavdos, on Thursday.
The migrants were adrift on a boat from which they sent a signal for help, and authorities are transferring them to Sfakia, on southern Crete, for registration and first aid.
According to information provided to ANA-MPA, they are all men who may be transferred to the facilities of the Kalathas summer camp in Chania, NW Crete.
Gavdos and its sea region have served as a gateway to Greece in multiple occasions recently.
