A FAREWELL TO PETER

My dearest friend and dear colleague

Peter we liked to call you,

Thanks for reading Hellenic News of America

why you left us suddenly

is hard for us to tell you.

An eagle’s gaze in your eyes

with intellect and wisdom,

your heart was full of Greece

your yearning was for freedom.

You show us leadership

with honesty and pride,

you lead us to new avenues

the truth never to die.

A Civic leader of respect

difficult to compare,

well accomplished Scientist

your laughter never spare.

You loved your family and friends

your children and grandchildren,

you taught them to love Greece

and never to be hindered.

Your memory will be with us

never we will forget you,

we will miss you very dearly

we will never down let you!
