The dual message that “at the moment we are experiencing an excellent momentum of the strategic relations between the UAE and Greece” and that the strategic cooperation is expected to be further strengthened, is sent by the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates HE Sulaiman Almazroui to Greece during his interview to Dimitris Manolis for the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) in view of the UAE-Greece business forum, which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday in Athens.

“We are currently experiencing an exceptional dynamic of strategic relations between the UAE and Greece. The frequency of visits exchanged between officials of the two countries over the past year and a half demonstrates, among other things, the common understanding we share on a wide range of issues, hoping that our strategic cooperation will be further strengthened,” Sulaiman Almazroui said.

A typical example of “warm and strong bilateral relations” is the recent visit of the Greek Prime Minister to Abu Dhabi, during which 12 memoranda of understanding and agreements were signed, as well as the agreement between the Hellenic Development Investment Bank (EATE) and the state industrial and Abu Dhabi Investment Fund ADQ for investments of 4 billion euros in Greece.

The Emirati ambassador also spoke of the “intense interest” of the Emirati people for investments in Greece, referring to the UAE-Greece Business Forum, headed by the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates. “On June 22 and 23, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates, will inaugurate the UAE-Greece Business Forum to be held in Athens. The Forum is organized on the initiative of the Emirates side and in particular of the Abu Dhabi State Investment Fund (ADQ), expressing the strong interest of the Emirates for investments in Greece and collaborations with Greek companies,” Sulaiman Almazroui noted.

The Forum will be attended by 50 UAE companies that are active in various sectors such as tourism, energy, agriculture, health, transport, infrastructure, etc. It is worth mentioning very important names of UAE companies such as: Mubadala Investment Company, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority – ADIA, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company – TAQA, Masdar, AD Ports, Etihad airlines and others.

It is noted that in this year’s 86th TIF event, the United Arab Emirates will be the “Honored Country”. “This participation will offer a great opportunity for businessmen from both sides to network and work together to strengthen bilateral economic relations,” the Emirati ambassador said.

Finally, HE Sulaiman Almazroui stressed that “it is important to mention that we expect cooperation in the field of aviation between the UAE airlines and the Greek airlines, which is expected to further increase tourism and economic relations in general between the two countries.”
