The death toll from the shipwrecked fishing boat that capsized in international waters, 47 nautical miles southwest of Pylos on the Peloponnese coast, continued to rise on Wednesday. The boat was carrying an unknown number of undocumented migrants when it capsized.
The number of dead has risen to 59, authorities said, while another 104 people have been rescued.
Four of the rescued migrants were taken to Kalamata hospital in a helicopter, while the rest are being taken to the port of Kalamata. The search and rescue operation in the area is continuing.
