The Hermes Expo is delighted to announce that Dr. Sam Chekwas will be honored at the 33rd Annual Hermes Expo Awards Dinner Gala, to be held on June 19th at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Dr. Chekwas will be the recipient of the prestigious PAIDEIA Award, recognizing his significant contributions to the Greek language and Hellenism as a PhilHellene.
Dr. Sam Chekwas was the 2004 recipient of the Ambassador of Hellenism award from the Greek government. He is a graduate of Aristotle University Greece with a degree in Greek Philology and a Doctor of Dental Surgery. An accomplished author, he has written books in both Greek and English languages and lectures at various institutions around the world. Dr. Chekwas is also the publisher of Seaburn Media Group, which he started in 1990 and has since published over 6,500 books. Additionally, he is the publisher of The African Diasporan News, the largest continuous publication for Africans in Diaspora. Dr. Chekwas lives in New York with his wife Tyra and their three children.
