Education Minister Niki Kerameus presented the progress of the International Academic Partnership Programme at an event in Washington organised by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Institute of International Education “with the aim of highlighting and further expanding Greek-American cooperation in higher education”, according to a statement on Thursday.
Representatives of 20 top US universities, such as Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Stockton and the University of Texas, outlined their own experience from participating in this programme.
Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), Lee Satterfield, also attended the event.
“Today we took another step towards strengthening the extroversion of our universities, we opened another window to knowledge, science and research. This is a change of philosophy, a shift to a more extroverted, dynamic system of higher education in Greece, which is gaining an important place on the international academic map,” Kerameus said, according to the announcement.
