Attico Metro SA and the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed an agreement on Monday for the disbursement of the second part of a loan for the construcion of a new line of the Athens metro.
The loan disbursement contract was signed by EIB officials and the CEO of Attico Metro in the presence of officials from the Ministries of Infrastructure & Transport and Finance.
The 30-year loan of 580 million euros will fund the first section of the new Line 4, running from Alsos Veikou to Goudi sections of Athens. It is the second instalment of a total 730 million euros for the project. The first part (150 mln euros) was disbursed on November 30, 2021, following a loan agreement signed in 2019.
