Kontos, Evangelia, of New Port Richey, FL (formerly of Bergenfield, NJ & Old Tappan, NJ) passed away on April 21, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Evripides (2020). Devoted mother of Steve Kontos and his wife Athanasia (Nancy), Kathryn Comodromos, and Constantinos Kontos and his wife Roussa. Loving grandmother of Evangelia, Aphrodite, Erica, Demi, Evripides (Evan), Stephanie and Evangelia.
She will be missed by many other family members all over the world. Evangelia emigrated to the United States in 1956. She then, along with her husband, Evripides grew the family fillo pastry business which began generations before in the 1920’s. Visitation at the Barrett Leber Funeral Home, 148 Dean Dr., Tenafly, NJ 07670 on Monday April, 25, 2022 from 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service at St. John The Theologian, Tenafly on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 11AM.
