The ΔΕΗ International Tour of Hellas kicked off on Wednesday on the island of Crete in the presence of Deputy Sports Minister Lefteris Avgenakis and US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt.
The important sports event, which is being revived in Greece after ten years, will be broadcast by 46 TV stations around the world.
The 139 athletes of the 20 participating teams received the signal for the start of the cycling tour, which will last five days. The participants will have the opportunity to cross several areas of Greece.
After Crete, it will continue in Attica, Central Greece, Thessaly and will finish on May 1 in Epirus, specifically in Ioannina.
“Five days of world promotion of Greece. Five days of emotions with the background of the amazing landscapes of our country,” Avgenakis said.
The Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) is a communications sponsor of the International Cycling Tour.
