The funeral of Yannis Markopoulos, one of Greece’s most influential composers, was held at the Athens Metropolitan Cathedral on Thursday.
Markopoulos died at the age of 84 on Saturday at an Athens hospital.
Delivering a speech at the service, New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis called him a “true citizen of the world who was part of our history for many years.”
