Greek National Defence Minister Nikos Dendias met with Egypt’s Minister of Defense, General Mohamed Zaki, in El Alamein on Thursday.
Their meeting was held in the context of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ visit to the historic city of El Alamein, Dendias said in a tweet. “We expressed our strong, joint will to further deepen our countries’ strategic defence relation, and to contribute to security and stability in the East Mediterranean,” he added.
Dendias also said the two countries’ defence cooperation had an elevated dynamic in recent years, which he attributed “to the frequent conduct of bilateral exercises and the participation of both countries’ personnel in specialized operational training and activities that promote both jointness and the strong ties among our Armed Forces.”
