The Health and Food Safety Commissioner Stella Kyriakidou focused on the usefulness of the operation of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority, speaking to the European Parliament, emphasizing that the Authority will only succeed if there is a consensus on health preparedness at all levels throughout the EU, including the European Parliament.
“We agree that the pandemic is still here and there is no time to lose,” she said. She added that what is expected is “a stronger Europe in the field of health and a stronger Europe in dealing with health crises” and underlined that “every minute counts in a pandemic situation ”
