Minister of Migration and Asylum Dimitris Kairidis met on Wednesday with the Ambassador of Egypt to Greece Omar Amer Youssef.
Both parties acknowledged the excellent relations between their countries and emphasized the significance of Greek-Egyptian friendship as a key pillar of peace in the Eastern Mediterranean. They discussed recent developments in immigration, aiming to collaboratively find optimal solutions.
During the meeting, they agreed to enhance dialogue between the two nations to address illegal immigration jointly and ensure the smooth implementation of the bilateral agreement between Greece and Egypt, signed in 2022
