The Ottawa Daughters of Penelope Euphrosyne Chapter #292, which was originally established in 1957 and reactivated in 1985, hosted our second virtual Bingo night fundraiser on Sunday, November 22, 2020 via Zoom, which was open to all!
We had 34 eager participants, from Canada and the US, join the fun on a snowy Ottawa night! Our effervescent Bingo caller was Pauline Pavlounis, who kept us smiling and called out and held up cards with the numbers called. We played four games including Four Corners, Letter X, Letter T and Letter O/Outside Square. Prizes included a beautiful fresh Christmas wreath, an Amazon gift card, and two beautiful gift baskets with various goodies. The proceeds will benefit our Chapter’s medical equipment donation to The Ottawa Hospital, honoring our dedicated community member and chanter, Andreas Andreadis, who lost his battle with COVID this past April.
We were honored to have AHEPA District 6 Secretary Chris Pappis, as well as Sisters and Brothers from California and Massachusetts, with us. This is the home Chapter of DOP Grand Governor Zone 5 Margaret Dritsas. She is the Liaison to Districts 5, 23, 24 and 26.
The 2020-2021 officers are President Cathy Pantieras, Vice President Jenny Papadopoulos, Corresponding Secretary Ivonne Hatzitheodosiou, Recording Secretary Montse Bouvier and Treasurer Felecha Eftaxias.
We greatly appreciate everyone’s donations and support for this special cause. It was a fun night seeing each other and enjoying time together, in these days of social distancing, and we look forward to the next time! Wishing you all Merry Christmas!
