Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis chaired a broad online meeting on Tuesday about progress in disaster recovery works at the flood-stricken region of Thessaly, in central Greece.
The premier and several ministers joined the Regional Civil Protection Operations Centre in Thessaly to discuss the issue, while Thessaly Region Governor Kostas Agorastos attended the meeting in person with the premier at Maximos Mansion.
They discussed compensation for damaged businesses, homes and farmers (including damaged crops and killed livestock), and issues relating to health protection and schools.
Agricultural Development & Food Minister Lefteris Avgenakis, Climate Change & Civil Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias, and Secretary General for Disaster Recovery & State Aid Petros Kabouris were among the many ministers, defence and Maximou officials attending the online meeting.
