Richard Ross to speak on Wednesday, Feb 17, 2016 at DELCO Press Club
Philadelphia police commissioner Richard Ross Jr. will speak at the Delaware County Press Club’s luncheon meeting on Wednesday, February 17 at noon at DiFabio’s. DiFabio’s is located at 1243 N. Providence Road in Media at the site of the former Rose Tree Inn.
Ross leads the fourth largest police department in the nation with more than 6,300 sworn and 800 civilian members. He was appointed commissioner onJanuary 5 after serving as first deputy commissioner for the past eight years.
During his 25-year career with the Philadelphia Police Department, Ross has served in various units including patrol, special operations, homicide and internal affairs. As first deputy commissioner, his command included homeland security and domestic preparedness, criminal intelligence and community relations.
Ross was born and raised in Philadelphia and graduated from Central High School, Penn State University and St. Joseph’s University.
