Greece comes to a standstill on religious summer holidays. I was in Tripoli on August 5th and 6th for the holiday of the Transfiguration of Christ. At the August fifth vespers, people lined outside to buy candles. They went into the church
And greeted Bishop Alexandros of Holy Metropolis of Mantinea and Kynourgia.
On August 6, The feast day, the church was open all day for people to come in and pray. We met Father Constantino, the parish priest. Interior and exterior architecture and Iconography were inspiring. An insight into Orthodoxy
