The Recovery Fund marks a new cycle of tourism development, Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias said in an article on news247.gr, underlining the following:
“In this effort to change the model and to achieve the maximum possible result, we utilise the resources of the Recovery and Resilience Fund with more than 320,000,000 euros, not counting the private funding, which concern a large series of projects, from the management of destinations and mountain tourism to health and wellness tourism, agrotourism and gastronomy,” he said.
“So 2022 can mark the beginning of a new cycle of development in the tourism sector, with benefits for all and with the realisation through the pandemic that we live in a beautiful country that we must protect for ourselves, our children, the generations to come and the people from all over the world who dream every year of experiencing some of its magic.”
Based on the data so far and if there is no dramatic change in the data of the pandemic, the new tourist season can be the new benchmark for Greek tourism. It will be the starting point of this new era, Kikilias underlined.
