The Rotary Club of New York, one of the most historical groups in America established 106 years ago, decided to honor the Greek Day of Independence.

A global network of Rotary volunteers with 33,000 clubs in more than 200 countries, will be informed that the Greek Revolution of 1821, became a symbol of the liberation of the spirit and independence of thought.

The very good cooperation of the Rotary Club Kerkyra, the Greek Federation Societies of Greater New York and the head of the Greek Department of the Rotary Club of New York Mr. Harry Pateroulakis has resulted in the Rector of the Ionian University Professor Mrs. Anastasia Sali Papasali, to be the guest of honor of the event.

She will present a speech on “Glorious Greek Spirit: A story of bravery and grace”.

The event will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11.30 am in the heart of New York (3 West 51st Street (Between 5th Ave and 6th Ave New York, NY 10019).

Ο Ροταριανός Όμιλος Νέας Υόρκης , ένας από τους ιστορικότερους ομίλους της Αμερικής με

διάρκεια ζωής 106 χρόνων, αποφάσισε , να Τιμήσει την Ελληνική Ημέρα της Ανεξαρτησίας, με την διοργάνωση ειδικής εκδήλωσης για την Εθνική Γιορτή του Ελληνικού Έθνους.

Πετυχαίνοντας έτσι μέσα από ένα παγκόσμιο Ροταριανό δίκτυο εθελοντών με 33.000 Ομίλους

σε περισσότερες από 200 χώρες , να ενημερωθούν ότι η Ελληνική Επανάσταση του 1821, αποτέλεσε σύμβολο της απελευθέρωσης του πνεύματος και της ανεξαρτησίας της σκέψης.

Η πολύ καλή συνεργασία του Ροταριανού Ομίλου Κέρκυρας, της Ομοσπονδία Ελληνικών

Σωματείων Μείζονος Νέας Υόρκης με τον επικεφαλής του Ελληνικού Τμήματος του Ομίλου κ. Χάρη Πατερουλάκη είχε ως αποτέλεσμα η Πρύτανης του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου Καθηγήτρια κ. Αναστασία Σαλή Παπασαλή , να είναι το τιμώμενο πρόσωπο της εκδήλωσης με θέμα ομιλίας «Ένδοξο ελληνικό πνεύμα: Μια ιστορία της ανδρείας και της Χάριτος “

                  Η εκδήλωση θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Πέμπτη 26 Μαρτίου 2015 και ώρα 11:30 π.μ. στην καρδιά της Νέας Υόρκης ( 3 West 51st Street (Between 5th Ave and 6th Ave New York, NY 10019).
