PHILADELPHIA, June 25, 2015 – USDA, Food, Nutrition and Consumer Service (FNCS) Under Secretary Kevin Concannon will make a national announcement at the Clark Park Farmers’ Market in Philadelphia about expansion inn current Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) authorized farmers and markets as well as current national SNAP redemption rates at these locations.

Pennsylvania farmers’ markets and their counterparts across America are helping low-income consumers gain increasing access to healthy fresh fruits and vegetables, as more and more outlets become authorized to redeem SNAP benefits. In Pennsylvania, there are 54 SNAP-authorized farmers markets and direct marketing farm locations.
