SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — Crozer-Keystone Health System is pleased to announce that surgical oncologist Mo Lareef, M.D., FACS has joined the Crozer-Keystone Health Network and is accepting new patients.

                Lareef earned his medical degree from Tver State Medical Academy in Tver, Russia. He completed his surgical residency at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, and his fellowship training in surgical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. Board-certified in general surgery, Lareef is a member of several professional medical societies – including the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the American Association of Cancer Research.

                As a surgical oncologist, Lareef specializes in the removal of tumors and cancerous tissue. At Crozer-Keystone, he will offer comprehensive surgical and coordinated care to patients with skin cancer (including melanoma), soft tissue tumors, parathyroid cancer, thyroid cancer, breast cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer and GI tract cancer. He will also perform robotic complex colorectal surgery. In addition, Lareef has conducted extensive breast cancer research and has been published over 20 times on the subject.

                Lareef believes in providing the best care possible to his patients, like how he would want himself or a loved one to be treated. Having come from a family of physicians, Lareef always knew he wanted to be a physician; specifically, to treat cancer and do whatever he can to help others. He is happy to be back in the Delaware Valley, where he grew up and also completed his medical training. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, gardening and playing soccer.

Lareef joins Patrick Elliot, D.O. in the Ridley Park and Brinton Lake (Glen Mills) locations of Crozer-Keystone General Surgery Associates. He will perform surgeries at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park and the Crozer-Keystone Surgery Center at Brinton Lake in Glen Mills.
