Days after His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew concluded a triumphant Patriarchal Visit to the United States, the number of FOUNDERS of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation has sharply increased, and the Foundation has now raised nearly $20 million for the economic stability and worldwide salvific ministry of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

His All-Holiness’ Patriarchal Visit to the United States from October 23 to November 3, 2021 was a remarkable success, and featured numerous milestones, including the Thyranoixia (Opening of the Doors) of Saint Nicholas Church and National Shrine; the conferral of an honorary degree upon His All-Holiness by the University of Notre Dame; His All-Holiness’ appearance at the annual Archon Weekend of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate; His All-Holiness’ Visit to Evyenia’s House of Hope in Weirton, West Virginia; and much more.

The visit has resulted in a surge of donations to the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation, with numerous new FOUNDERS. FOUNDERS of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation who have answered the call to establish the financial foundation of the Spiritual Center of Orthodoxy, the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, once and for all by giving at least $100,000, payable over ten years.

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America stated: “Once again the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation is reaching an extraordinary milestone with amazing speed. The FOUNDERS of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation have, as they have so many times before, heard the call to serve our Holy Mother Church, and have answered it. For that we can all be grateful.”

Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, National Commander of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and Chair of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation, said: “The enthusiastic response that the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation has received to its call for support for His All-Holiness and the Ecumenical Patriarchate is a wonderful occasion for us to give praise and glory to God.” I offer abundant thanksgiving to Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Fr. Alexander Karloutsos and the Board of Trustees who have labored selflessly to ensure the success of our fundraising efforts. Most of all, I extend my deepest gratitude to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew who inspires us all as he serves his worldwide flock with extraordinary diakonia and martyria.
