As he noted, all the polls show that the trend is for this initiative to do better and better from week to week in consumer ratings.
Regarding ‘Santa’s basket’, the minister said that until the end of the day the prices from 20 toy store chains will have been posted on the relevant electronic platform while 15 companies have already posted their prices for 800 toys, a number that is expected to increase in the following days.
According to the data unveiled by the ministry’s leadership, the price of the average basket from 124.60 euros that was the first week of the measure, dropped to 109.8 euros in the sixth week.
As the minister said “the citizens have the opportunity to buy goods at a stable or lower price while without the household basket measure that prices would run with the inflation rate”.
According to the data, the consumer saves 15.32 euros/per week, 66.40 euros/per month and 796.74 euros/per year.
