On October 22nd, 2019, the Hellenic Relief Foundation’s monthly distribution of food and goods took place. Around 380 families received the H.R.F.’s monthly basic goods package from the headquarters of the H.R.F. and its partner organization in Greece. Assistance for this distribution was given by the Social Committee of the Athenian Society, as well as the Greek companies that donated flour, fish, milk, canned goods, sodas, etc.
The distribution was headed up by the H.R.F.’s partner organization in Athens, under the organization of Ms. Maria Siourdi, and with the voluntary assistance of Poly Kalfopoulou, Soula Belli, Antonia Pantouvaki, Emy Spanou, and with the assistance of the staff of our partner organization.
Goods were also donated by the following companies: N. Konstantopoulou Group, Food Bank, Palirria Souliotis AE, Kamilari AEBE, Arla Foods, Karamolegos AE, Barilla, and Coca Cola.
In all, around 400 packages were handed out, including distributions to various organizations, including the Actor’s House, the ΤΑΣΕΗ, the Meropeio nursing home, and more.

The Hellenic Relief Foundation Inc. is a non profit organization (501(c)3) and was founded in 2012, with the goal of raising funds in the United States to be used towards the purchase of food items, and other basic necessities for the underprivileged in Greece that have increased in numbers due to the current crisis. To date, approximately 630,000 dollars have been remitted, and with donations within Greece, as well as volunteered social and medicinal services, the true value of the aid is closer to a million dollars. Στις 22 Οκτωβρίου 2019 πραγματοποιήθηκε η τακτική μηνιαία διανομή τροφίμων και ειδών. Περίπου 380 οικογένειες προσήλθαν στις εγκαταστάσεις της ΕΛΕΘΣΥ-HRF και πήραν τα απαραίτητα τρόφιμα του μήνα προσφορά του HRF. Αρωγοί μας και σε αυτή τη διανομή το Κοινωνικό Παράρτημα του Συλλόγου των Αθηναίων και εταιρείες που προσέφεραν, αλεύρι, ψάρια, γάλα, τυποποιημένα τρόφιμα (κονσέρβες) αναψυκτικά κ.α.
H διανομή πραγματοποιήθηκε με επικεφαλής την υπεύθυνη της ΕΛΕΘΣΥ κα. Μαρία Σιούρδη, τη βοήθεια των εθελοντριών κ.κ. Πόλυς Καλφοπούλου, Σούλας Μπέλλη, Αντωνίας Παντουβάκη, Έμυς Σπανού και με την υποστήριξη των εργαζόμενων της ΕΛΕΘΣΥ-HRF.
Me προϊόντα τους ενίσχυσαν τη διανομή οι εταιρείες: Όμιλος Ν. Κωνσταντόπουλου, Τράπεζα Τροφίμων, Παλλίροια Σουλιώτης ΑΕ, Καμηλάρη ΑΕΒΕ Arla foods, Καραμολέγκος AE, Barilla, Coca Cola.
Συνολικά δόθηκαν περίπου 400 πακέτα τροφίμων διότι ενισχύθηκαν και φορείς όπως το Σπίτι του Ηθοποιού, ΤΑΣΕΗ, το Μερόπειο Γηροκομείο κ.α.

To Hellenic Relief Foundation είναι ένας μη κερδοσκοπικός οργανισμός (non- profit, tax- exempt [501C3] organization). Ιδρύθηκε τον 2012 με σκοπό την συγκέντρωση χρημάτων στις Η.Π.Α. προς αγορά και διανομή τροφίμων και ειδών πρώτης ανάγκης σε αναξιοπαθούντες στην Ελλάδα. Μέχρι σήμερα έχουν αποσταλεί περίπου $630,000 δολάρια με τα οποία έχουν αγορασθεί και διανεμηθεί τρόφιμα και είδη πρώτης ανάγκης καθώς και κοινωνικές υπηρεσίες που ξεπερνούν σε αξία το ένα εκατομμύριο δολάρια καθώς εταιρείες στην Ελλάδα ενισχύουν τις διανομές με προϊόντα και ιατροί και κοινωνικοί λειτουργοί προσφέρουν εθελοντικά πολύτιμες υπηρεσίες υποστήριξης. Τα έξοδα του ιδρύματος στην Νέα Υόρκη καλύπτονται από τα μέλη του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου ενώ τα έξοδα διανομής στην Ελλάδα καλύπτονται κυρίως από χορηγία του ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος.
