The International S.T.E.P.S. Foundation fundraiser was held by Lord and Taylor in Garden City, New York hosted by Ms. Theodora D. Abazis and Mrs. Eileen Deering Scoufaras was held on April 1st, 2017.  The attendees were as follows:  Mrs. Despina D. Abazis, Mrs. Maria Magoulas, Mrs. Eleni Abazis Michailidis, Mrs. Catherine Michos Daperis, Mrs. Thalia Mestousis, Mrs. Elaine La Penna, Ms. Ellen La Penna, Mrs. Bessie Colaitis, Mrs. Christina Colaitis Kyrou, Ms. Diana Kyrou, Mr. Krishna Singh and Mrs. Amanda Singh aso well aso othere guests.  The Executive Director of Elizabeth Arden Peter Meagher was present with his Representatives Joan and Stella as Lancome’s Gillian Robinson.

The International S.T.E.P.S. Foundation (Chania, Crete) represents Science, Technology, Economics and Politics for Society.  It was founded by Dr. Epimenides D. Haidemenakis a Columbia University graduate in Massachusetts 50 years ago.    The vision of the foundation is based on Cretan mythology King Minos, the son of Zeus and Europa, who ascended the mountains every nine years to consult with the God’s and Muses to renew his inspiration and vision on the state of things.  The Olympiad of the Mind revives this legacy and are founded on the classical Greek intellectual tradition of generating new solutions for the betterment of humankind.  The dialogues and informal gatherings invigorated by King Minos, gave new new ideas for revising national policies, recommending structural reforms and formulating new legislation.
On September 14 – 17, 2017 The International S.T.E.P.S. Foundation and the Orthodox Academy of Crete will have in Chania, Crete, Greece.  Past speakers of the foundation are as follows:  Nicolaas Bloembergen, Nobel Laureate and Professor Emeritus, Harvard University; Boutros-Boutros Ghali, President of the International Organization of the Francophonie and Former Secretary-General of the United Nations; Frederick Willem De Klerk, Nobel Laureate, former President of South Africa; Leo Esaki, Nobel Laureate and many more Nobel Laureates…  The primary goal for The Olympiad of the Mind and The International S.T.E.P.S. Foundation is to establish their own permanent headquarters, as the Olympic Games have.
