Acclaimed actor, producer, and director Kristos Andrews chatted with HNA’s Markos Papadatos about his 2021 Daytime Emmy nomination for “The Bay” on Popstar! TV.

Andrews is nominated for “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Fiction Program” for playing the twin roles of Pete Garrett and Adam Kenway.

Walt Disney once said “You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.” This quote applies to the cast, crew, and filmmakers of the hit digital drama series “The Bay,” especially as they filmed Season 6 under strict COVID protocols under the guidance and leadership of showrunner Gregori J. Martin.

Andrews’ performance as both Adam and Pete in this season of “The Bay” was hailed as “mesmerizing” by Digital Journal. He was praised for delivering a “stellar and transformative performance” as the manipulative twin Adam Kenway, and he was commended for “delving deep into the character’s conscience while simultaneously creating a creature.”

Andrews’ portrayal of Adam was subsequently compared to Aaron Eckhart (“The Dark Knight”) meets Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men”).

On earning his 2021 Daytime Emmy nomination, Andrews said, “I am grateful and humbled to be recognized for my work. I am thankful to be surrounded by a team and family of good artists and good people, to which I attribute this recognition; furthermore, I commend my fellow nominees who I know put their all in and I am honored to share the celebration of our work.”

“I like to see this process as far less a competition than it is to be an opportunity to commune and appreciate one another’s work which we are blessed to be doing,” he added.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again,” he said. “Acting is the art of being human. We’re each greater and more expansive than life tends to condition us to believe. There’s an innate value to tap into within this craft, and whether it be pleasure, pain, or experiences beyond what’s verbally describable, finding the meaningful silence within the work begets a greater acceptance towards life, understanding toward others, and growth of our consciousness.”

In the latest season of “The Bay,” Andrews was able to take his fans and viewers on a personal journey that was bumpy, raw, exhilarating, and explosive.

It is no wonder that Andrews’ mantel holds 10 Daytime Emmy Awards, four as an actor, five as a producer, and one as a co-director of the show.

Aside from Andrews being nominated in the “Lead Actor” category, his co-stars Jade Harlow and Karrueche Tran are both vying for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Daytime Fiction Program.”

Mike Manning and Eric Nelsen are up for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Fiction Program,” while Jacklyn “Jackie” Zeman and Alicia Leigh Willis are both nominated for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Fiction Program.”

The D’Ambrosio Twins (Chiara and Bianca) are separately nominated for “Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Fiction Program,” and finally A Martinez and Randy Wayne are up for “Outstanding Guest Performer in a Daytime Fiction Program.”

The writers of “The Bay” are also nominated for “Outstanding Writing Team in a Daytime Fiction Program” and the show was up for “Outstanding Limited Series.”

“The Bay” is available for streaming on Popstar! TV.
