Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) announced was the Gold Sponsor of the Hellenic Olympic Team at the Beijing Winter Olympics (February 4-20).
In an announcement, PPA said the sponsorship was signed by its chairman, Yu Zenggang, and Hellenic Olympic Committee President Spyros Capralos at a farewell event held on January 29 at the Hellenic Olympic Committee premises in Chalandri, NE of Athens. The event was also attended by Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Greece Xiao Junzheng and Greek Deputy Minister of Culture & Sports Lefteris Avgenakis.
The PPA’s chairman said that the sponsorship is part of the company’s strategy for the port of Piraeus. In the past, the group had also sponsored the Hellenic Paralympic team athletes.
