Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi in Maximos Mansion on Monday.
The main topics of the discussion were an overview of the challenges of the migration/refugee issue in the wider region, as well as the great efforts that Greece has made for their registration and identification within modern and organized reception, hosting, and identification structures.
Particular reference was also made to the “Seat Agreement” signed earlier on Monday between Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis and the UN High Commissioner. The agreement specifies the legal status of the operation of the agency’s offices in Greece.
Mitsotakis and Grandi also discussed legal migration routes and the challenge of migrant integration.
