The improvement in relations between Greece and Türkiye was one of the topics discussed between the White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and the Turkish President’s Chief Advisor for Foreign Policy and Security, Ambassador Akif Cagatay Kilic.
Sullivan and Kilic hailed the improved relations between Türkiye and Greece, according to a White House statement, and discussed the latest developments in the Middle East war over the phone, with Sullivan stressing the urgent need for Hamas to accept Israel’s proposal for an immediate ceasefire as part of the hostage deal.
They also discussed bilateral issues, such as counterterrorism, defence cooperation and sanctions compliance, according to the White House.
Finally, they stressed the importance of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and welcomed the improvement in relations between Türkiye and Greece.
