The Greek-American community of Lancaster, PA, organized their first “Greek Heritage Night” with the Lancaster Barnstormers on Thursday, August 19th to raise funds for the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. The event was a huge success with people traveling near and far to attend the game.
“Father Hector earmarked that all funds raised from the event will be donated to the fires in Greece through the International Christian Orthodox Christian Charities,” said Kenneth Myers, COO of Kegel’s Produce and spearhead of the “Greek Heritage Night.”
Kenneth is a proud Greek-American running Kegel’s produce in Lancaster with his mother, Suzanne. When asked about his Greek heritage, he replied “Greek traditions are legendary and I respect my mother for continuing those traditions with my boys.”
“I would like to thank Kosta Kombouglas, Souvlaki Boys, Smile Builders, Dawne, my mother, Paul, Koby, Bob Z, the Lancaster Barnstormers’ staff. It took a lot of help. It was a fun night and it was nice to see many connections established at the game,” he exclaimed.
