WASHINGTON, DC – The Daughters of Penelope (DOP), a leading international service organization comprised of women of Hellenic heritage and Philhellenes, launched Webinar 4 of the Grand Lodge Webinar Series on the evening of Friday, November 20. National officers and members from around the world joined via Zoom to navigate the organization’s newly redesigned website with Executive Director Elena Saviolakis. “This webinar not only allowed Headquarters to gain valuable feedback and ensure the website is user friendly but also was an opportunity to bring everyone together once again during this COVID era,” said Saviolakis. Webinar 5 is scheduled for December 3 with Daughters of Penelope Grand President Celia Kachmarski and will discuss ways to recruit and engage new members during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Founded in San Francisco in 1929, the Daughters of Penelope is the first women’s organization of its kind established in the United States. It is an affiliate organization of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA).
The mission of the DOP is to promote the ancient Greek ideals of Hellenism, Education, Philanthropy, Civic Responsibility, and Family and Individual Excellence.
