“Whenever a newspaper of Hellenism is having a celebration…it is not exactly a celebration for the newspaper. It is a celebration for Koinonia…” Dr. Spiro Spireas said at the 29th anniversary dinner held Oct. 30, 2016 at the Concordville Inn in Concordville, Pa. “Having a newspaper in the Koinonia keeps everybody together. It keeps the traditions together. It keeps young kids together. It keeps networking together. It is very important to the very fiber of our existence here to have the newspapers for our Koinonia.”

Last April, Dr. Spiros Spireas served as a Grand Marshal at the New York City Greek Independence Day Parade. He also served as a President of the AHIF, the American Hellenic Institute Foundation.

The anniversary highlights decades of stories from the Hellenic News of America, covering the roots and passions of the Hellenic community while perpetuating Hellenic principles and ideals.
