The Hellenic Society Prometheas In cooperation with the Greek Energy Forum Cosponsored by the Hellenic World Bank-IMF Staff Association
Invite you to a lecture by: Dr. Yanos Michopoulos Director of Vennergy Partners and member of the Steering Committee of the Greek Energy Forum, London, UK “Is Greece Now Open for Business?”
A key part of the structural reform program currently under way in Greece is the privatization of state-owned companies, especially in the energy, power generation and infrastructure sectors. Hence, the key question for international investors is: “Should you consider investing in and/or acquiring these companies?” Dr. Michopoulos will discuss developments in the private sector, where companies seek to navigate the crisis via aggressive debt restructuring, cost-cutting measures and job reductions, as well as Merger & Acquisition activities and diversification in new sectors, including Energy. In addition, Dr. Michopoulos will explore investment opportunities in the small, family-owned companies operating both in traditional sectors, e.g. retail, tourism and services, that are the backbone of the Greek economy, as well as in emerging and highly productive, niche sectors such as renewable energy, pharmaceuticals and high-tech.
