The Minister of National Defense, Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, met today, Thursday, September 16, 2021, with the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Robert Bauer, in view of the Conference of the Committee, at the level of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces in Athens, from 17 to 19 September 2021, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the Chief of General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, issues related to the “NATO 2030” process, the new NATO Strategy for Defense and Prevention in the Euro-Atlantic area were discussed.
The importance of strengthening resilience, especially the critical state infrastructure, the important contribution and role of our country in the Alliance, and the need to effectively address new challenges and threats in our wider region were also underlined.
