Hellenic Relief Foundation and AHEPA Chapters Support Families

On Wednesday, October 15th, the Hellenic Relief Foundation – in the presence of board member Mr. Stelios Taketzis – and in partnership with the Social Committee of the Athenian Society, the N. Konstantopoulou Group – CNI Energy AE, and AVS Services, conducted their monthly food distribution. The monthly packages included flour, pasta, rice, legumes, oil, milk, tomato paste, and more.

Following the distribution, representatives of local AHEPA chapters – including HJ-2 Glyfada, HJ-4 Solon, HJ-9 Themistocles, HJ-38 Phalereus, and HJ-55 Thucydides – presented new clothes and shoes to the H.R.F.’s partner organization in Athens, ΕΛΕΣΘΥ, which was founded in 2012 following an initiative from the Greek diaspora in the United States.

Of the roughly 310 families that took part in the distribution on the first day, around 140 of them had the opportunity to receive not only a monthly food package, but also choose clothing and footwear.

The distribution took place at headquarters of the H.R.F. and ΕΛΕΣΘΥ, as always, under the direction of Ms. Maria Siourdi, director of the H.R.F’s partner organization, as well as volunteers Soula Belli, Antonia Pantouvaki, Emy Spanou, Evgenia Salamani, Giannis Lambrou, and Ms. Argyriou from the Social Committee of the Athenian Society.

The H.R.F.’s food distribution efforts were made possible – as always – by Food Bank, as well as the companies, Barba Stathis, Agrovim, Karamolegos AEBE, Loulis Mills, FrieslandCampina, Colgate-Palmolive, Kamilaris AEBE, Softex, MAKVEL pasta products, and ZAGORIN – the Agricultural Cooperative of Zagora Pelion, which provided butter, apples, frozen vegetables, sliced bread, napkins, and more.
