Company bankruptcies totaled 57 in 2020, down 9.5% from 2019 (63), while the average annual growth rate was -21% in the 2011-2020 period, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday. The statistics service, in a report based on bankruptcy court decisions, said that the highest number of bankruptcies were in the wholesale/retail commerce sector and the car/motorcycle repair sector (28.1%), followed by the manufacturing sector (24.6%), hospitality (12.3%) and construction/logistics (7%). Liabilities reached 763.8 million euros. Bankruptcies fell by an annual average rate of 27.8% among individual companies, 17.8% among personal companies and 18.3% among capital companies.
